Dear parents,
Thank you for your donations to the BC Childrens’ Hospital today-it was good to see the kids bring in their different types of jean clothes! This week in math, we learned about basic algebra and integers. We have finished learning on how to write a persuasive essay by practicing our editing and how to write a strong introduction and conclusions to our their practice essay on whether or not homework should be banned. Next week, students will begin to think about the persuasive topic they would like to pick for their final assignment essay/speech.
A few reminders
- Thank you for completing Week 1 of your “Sexuality and Education” video and discussion with your child/children this week. I will post the name of the video and the unmarked assignment Google Classroom assignment again this coming week that your child can press “submit” on once completed.
- The last book that we will do a novel study this year on will be, “Inside Out and Back Again”. It is the story of a young girl who emigrates to America during the Vietnam War and will tie into our Social Studies unit on migration. Please buy a copy of this book for your child/children over the next two weeks and let me know if you have any issues in finding it. I have attached an Amazon link to it below.
