Hello Grade 3 Families!
We had a great time celebrating the 100th day of school. It was amazing to see how creative you were in making your child look like they were 100 years old!
The Grade 3 students have been diligently working on their science project and thoroughly enjoying the process! This coming Monday they will start to make a diorama of their chosen animal’s habitat. For this part of the project they will need a shoe box or a clean medium sized pizza box. Since they are working with a partner, only one partner will need to bring a box for their project. If we end up with extra boxes, we will distribute them among any teams who do not have a box, or your child will be able to bring it back home.
I will supply them with paint, construction paper, clay, artificial moss, cotton balls, and a few other items as long as supplies last. If they want to add any more/other items, they are allowed to bring them from home.
If we have the time, we will have the students from the other grades come to see them; this will allow the Grade 3 students to share what they have learned about their animal and its habitat in their research!
This is a project that I really love doing since it is multi-faceted: it is a cross-curricular project that connects Science, Visual Arts (making a diorama & a video skit), and Language Arts.
