Grade 7

Week of Sept 25-29

Hello Grade 7 Parents!

Thank you to our readers (Samantha, Caelyn and Mia), our gift bearers (Rachel and Kayla) and our altar servers (Anina, Bianca, Linden and Trisha) for your service to our school Mass on Thursday!

Here are the important items for the week ahead:

Rainy Weather

The forecast this week calls for lots of rain. As we are a school that has outdoor recess rain or shine, please remind your child to pack rain boots and a rain jacket if they want to play on the field/playground/parking lot. Please note that only students wearing boots can play on the field.

Sports

As volleyball and cross-country practices are well under way, please remind your child to check the PE blog and make note of their practice days and times in order to be prepared for practice the night before. Thank you!

Service Hours

I have posted the scorekeepers schedule in Google Classroom for students interested in getting some service hours and are able to stay later after school. Students must have permission from a parent before signing up.

Thursday September 28 – Orange Shirt Day

This day acknowledges that residential schools are a part of our shared history. Wearing an orange shirt is a national movement to recognize the experience of those who went to residential schools, to honour them, and show a collective commitment to ensure that Every Child Matters. We are asking that each student wear an orange shirt and bring in a $2 donation for the Orange Shirt Day Society.

Walkathon – Friday September 29th

This Friday is our annual Walkathon! Please note that it is a dress down day and students dress for potential rainfall as well as wear comfortable shoes for our 10km walk. Also, please note the dismissal time of 12:30pm.

And finally, please note Monday October 2nd – No School (Truth & Reconciliation Day).

St. Paul Parish – SPIRIT Youth Group

Please see the links below to the St. Paul Parish SPIRIT calendar that your child can attend on specific Friday nights throughout the school year. SPIRIT is a youth group for Grade 6 and 7 students hosted by the older youth of St. Paul Parish.
