Grade 4

Week of March 2-6

Dear Grade Four Families,

This past Tuesday, for Anti-Bullying Day, we talked the issue of bullying, strategies of what they can do when faced with a bully, and to remember that God calls us to always love our neighbours as ourselves! I hope they learned some valuable lessons and will always remember to treat each other with kindness and respect!

This Wednesday, we began the Lenten season.  The students received a purple bracelet from Fr. Luterbach as a visual reminder of the season. We encourage the students to wear it everyday.  We also began morning masses at 8:15am, and we invite you to please join us as often as you can.  Thank you to all the families that got the kids to mass for this past Thursday and Friday, when it was our turn to lead.

From Monday’s wrist rosary making activity for the Prison Ministry, we still have a few wrist rosaries available for purchase. These rosaries that your children made will be used to raise funds for Operation Smile. If you would like to support this cause, please send in $5.00 on Monday.

Finally, Jacob Imoo came to give a presentation to all the students called “Rollin’ with God.” He talked about his passions and strategies he used for achieving his goals.  He taught the students that we must always put God first in our lives. His presentation fit perfectly with this year’s school theme, “I can do all things through Christ.”  We wish Jacob the best of luck this weekend as he bowls in the Provincial Tournament in Kelowna (you know where I’ll be this weekend) and next weekend in Nanaimo!
