Dear Grade Two Families,
This past week, the class started learning about the water cycle by doing an experiment that helped them see each stage up close! Then, the children discussed ways they could save water and understood the importance of taking care of the Earth and all of God’s creation. These discussions helped reinforce our First Communion themes for the week too!
Speaking of which, in the coming week, Grade Two will be going to Confession so that their hearts are nice and clean for Jesus when they receive their First Communion on Saturday! In class, the students have been reviewing the steps of Confession and the Act of Contrition as well as have been doing an Examination of Conscience to help them pray and reflect on their choices.
This week, the children will be practicing how to receive the Eucharist reverently, and on Wednesday, Sister Izah and Sister Ana will be giving them unconsecrated hosts to taste. I look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday for our final parent meeting and again on Saturday, to celebrate your children’s First Holy Communion!
I also look forward to sharing in your children’s learning on Friday. Thank you to those who have already made an appointment for your child’s Student-Led Conference. If you haven’t already done so, please sign up as soon as possible.
Finally, the Scholastic Book Fair will be returning to our school library this week. Please check the Library blog on the school website for more information and come visit the Book Fair in support of our library!
