Hello Grade One Families!
I hope that you have all had a wonderful long weekend! This school week will be a little bit longer than last week, but still a short week as we have another Professional Development Day this Friday.
What will we be doing in Grade One this week?
- the students will move to a new home table or stay at their home table and have new classmates join them – always exciting to change things up a bit!
- we will be learning more about the saints and sharing examples of how we can strive to be saints in our daily life
- we will continue to work on letter formation, sentence writing, and oral reading
- the students will listen to a story and then work together to sequence the plot events in the story
- there will be an invitation for the students to use various materials to show me what they know about patterning ~ this is the beginning of a math theme that will continue until Christmas vacation
- the students will have an opportunity to work with me on a reflection of their work in data collection and we will share this reflection with you on ClassDojo
- the students will finish a visual of ways that they would like to see their brain “grow in learning” and we will also share this with you on ClassDojo
- the students will be given clues to try to solve the mystery of what concept/topic we will be exploring in science for the next few weeks ~ stay tuned to find out if they can figure it out!
- in between all of these we will have PE, Music, French, library time, Mass, and a school Assembly
