Home/Week of December 7 – 11

Grade 1

Week of December 7 – 11

God of Light, bring us peace.

Help us to find peace this Advent season.

Help us to prepare for the coming of Your Son, Jesus.

We make this prayer in the name of Jesus, our Peace. Amen

Hello Grade One Families!

Earlier this week, one of the boys commented during calendar time, “Where have all of the Grade One days gone?”. He is right! Where have all of the days gone?!?

We now find ourselves at the beginning of the second week of Advent. This is traditionally the week of peace or the week of preparation.  Amidst all of the changes, worries and stressors of our current health pandemic, it is time to take a moment…many moments…to seek peace in time spent with the Lord. When the children take their deep calming breaths, are silent, fold their hands, and join in the Advent prayers, it  is a wonderful way to be together.

Please note the following for this week:

  • please send in a donation for Hampers for Hope one day this week (see the email from the school office for more details)
  • PE class

  • PE class
  • please check your child’s agenda book for an activity sheet for your family to discuss and complete together (it is due on Thursday)

  • PE class

  • last day to submit hot lunch order forms and payment for the next term (please remind your child to hand it in)

  • PE class

Just a friendly reminder that Friday December 18 is our last day before the Christmas holidays. The students may come dressed in red and green clothes, including Christmas themed shirts, sweaters and headbands. Dismissal for the first group will be at 11:45am and the second group at 12:00pm.

Please email me at if you have any questions or concerns.

Have a fabulous week ahead!

Mrs. Kelly 🙂
