Grade 1

Week of Oct. 3 – 7

Hi Grade One Families,

Where has September gone? It’s hard to believe we are already in the second month of Grade One!

We an important Wednesday honouring the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation by wearing our orange shirts. We read books about residential schools and the students had many thoughtful questions and connections about the experiences. We talked about how we wear our orange shirts to promote healing and reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples.

On Thursday, we had our school Walkathon. Thank you to all the parent volunteers who came to walk with our class! The children enjoyed being outside, and being able to spend time with their friends. We were blessed with a beautiful sunny day, and the children all agreed we had a great workout! Thank you for continuing to collect pledges. Walkathon pledges are due Tuesday, October 11th.
