Kindergarten

One Week to Kindergarten!

Hello Kindergarten Families,

Can you believe school is almost here- one more week to go!

Miss Guevara and I have been happily preparing our classroom and are so excited to begin this new learning adventure with you and your children! We also hope you have received our postcard in the mail and look forward to seeing you in one week’s time!

A few things to note:

Gradual Entry-Schedule & Groups were emailed mid-August. Please let us know if you did not receive it. Please note that even though masks are not mandatory for students in Kindergarten to Grade 3, the children will be learning how to handle their masks and wash their hands properly throughout gradual entry. There will also be hand sanitizing stations in the school and in our classroom so children can sanitize their hands whenever they need to.

First Day of School-Please know your child’s gradual entry group (see e-mail). There is only one hour of school on the first day! Group A will have class from 8:45-9:45 and Group B will follow from 10:00-11:00. Parents are asked to leave campus and return for their child’s pick-up.

As we are learning new routines, your child is welcome to bring a backpack on their first day of school but nothing else is needed. Your child does NOT need a snack for the first day of school. Please send a snack and bottle of water starting on Wednesday, September 8th (for Group A) and Thursday, September 9th (for Group B).

Arrival and Dismissal-In Kindergarten, parents are expected to park their car and walk their child to the Kindergarten portable when dropping them off to school. For dismissal, the same procedure also applies. Please park your car and wait outside the Kindergarten portable (under the covered area) for your child to be dismissed from the classroom. More detailed information about school arrival and dismissal procedures will be shared in a Moorehead Message video that will be sent home via email on Sept. 3rd.  Please watch for this email.
