Dear Grade Four Families,
Today we participated in “Black Excellence Day” in support of anti-racism. I am grateful to the students for having such open hearts when discussing such an important and difficult topic. They enjoyed learning about Martin Luther King Jr. and reflecting on what their dreams are for the future. I was blown away by their words and ideas.
Today, we also started finding the theme in short stories after reading “Salt in His Shoes,” a story about Michael Jordan’s basketball career. Please find this work on your child’s new Google Classroom page.
