Hello Grade 3 Families!
It was wonderful to have the students back in the classroom this past week and to hear them talk about what they had done during the Christmas Holiday!
This week the students will be writing about their Christmas Holiday using a 4-square graphic organizer. When each student has completed writing their final copy, they will read it out loud in front of their peers.
This week we will also be celebrating Black Excellence Day in which we will be talking about anti-racism. It will be a dress down day where the students are asked to wear something black. There will be no donation required.
Please make sure that your child completes their Daily LA homework worksheet at home on a daily basis from Monday to Thursday, and hands each one in the following morning. The worksheet is to be done by your child independently since it is grammar points that they have already learned about in the classroom. They may need some reminders or clarifications on what they are being asked to do, but for your child to become self-sufficient it is important that they find the answers on their own. You can help them do this by asking questions to guide them to the answer, versus giving them the answer; this will encourage your child to self-reflect and to tap into their prior knowledge.
