Grade 7

News for November 11th – 15th

Hello everyone,

It was a whirlwind of a long weekend, not the least of which saw Ms. Costales become Mrs. Dos Santos (she got married) on Saturday. It was a beautiful Mass (well done to Morgan and Micah as altar servers!).

We also had a Spirit-filled Sunday where Apex Ministries and WAL (live band) got the spirit movin’ throughout the Chandos Pavilion with talks, testimony and song. Hailey even got to be a chicken!

Lastly, I hope you were able to attend a Remembrance Day event somewhere in the Lower Mainland on Monday despite the rainy weather!

Walkathon Totals

Before the news for this week, I have yet to say a big congratulations to all the students and parents of Grade 7 for raising over $10,000 (yes, $10,000!) in Grade 7 alone for the Walkathon. The overall total surpassed $76,000 for the school – incredible!

As a prize for coming in second (we were beat out by Gr. 6 by just $20!), we will be receiving a pizza lunch prize. To that end:

Pizza Lunch Wednesday

My apologies for the late notice but Wednesday (tomorrow!) is our pizza lunch as the prize for winning* the fundraising for the Walkathon. Please pack only snacks as the pizza will be enough for lunch.

*because we came within $100 of Gr.6, we were considered winners as well!

Vancouver Symphony – Thursday November 14th

The Gr 4 – 7 VSO field trip will be this Thursday November 14th. Please note that of the parents who volunteered to join us, only those notified should attend.

I will be sending out an email to those parents tomorrow (once the number of available tickets is determined).

Attending volunteer parents must make their own way to and from the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver.

Have a great rest of the week!

Mr. Kirkham
