Grade 6

Nov. 9 – 13

Dear Grade Six Families,

Let us take some time this Wednesday, as we wear our poppies, to remember all of the soldiers who selflessly gave their life for our freedom. There are so many things for which we should be grateful.

I was very impressed with the amount of detail the students displayed while completing their honey-comb assignment on the Solar System.

In Socials, the students completed a Venn diagram comparing and contrasting a political map versus a physical map. I am looking forward to marking their mapping assignment on the different continents and oceans in our world.

This week the students will use lines of latitude and lines of longitude to find a particular city on a map.

In art, I introduced the class to one of the Elements of Arts: Line. The students completed a flip book looking at all of the different types of lines.
