- developing reading comprehension skills by exploring the transformation of the characters and how books can transform the reader
- the commutative and distributive properties of multiplication
- multiplication and division of two and three digit numbers
- using prior mathematical knowledge to solve word problems
- identifying, building, and testing simple machines
- responsibilities of various levels of Canadian government: municipal, provincial and federal
Ways to support learning at home:
- practice multiplication facts to 12 x 12 to support two and three digit multiplication and division
- encourage your child to read for 15 – 30 minutes each day
- remind your child to check the Grade 5 Google Classroom for announcements
- help your child to complete any other work that may be assigned to them for home practice (you will be informed of this via email)
