Grade 7

Looking ahead to October

Hi parents,

We had a great morning on what is the final St. Paul Walkathon for the Grade 7 Class of 2023.

Thank you to all the parents who joined us!

Truth and Reconciliation Day

Tomorrow, September 30th there is no school as we honour our Indigenous brothers and sisters who are survivors of Indian Residential Schools. Whether it is reading a book by an Indigenous author, walking in the park or forest and discussing with your children what unceded land means or praying as a family for the Holy Spirit to guide our path towards truth, healing and reconciliation with the Indigenous people so that we can move forward together, are all wonderful activities to do on this day.

Grade 7 & Kindergarten Assembly – Wednesday October 5th

We will be leading the assembly this coming Wednesday. You are invited to join us at 1:15pm in the gym!

Field Trip to Fraser River Discovery Centre – Thursday October 6th

We will be going to the Fraser River Discovery Centre to expand our understanding of the scientific inquiry cycle as we explore the pulse of the Fraser River with hands on experiments. Thank you to our three parents who are able to join us! Students will receive their hot lunch when we return to the school.

Garry Point Fun Run – Friday October 7th

Please arrange to have your child picked up at lunch on Friday October 7th to be taken to Garry Point for our annual Fun Run with St. Joseph the Worker. Details are forthcoming regarding specific start and end times.

Thanksgiving – Monday October 10th (No School)

This year, Thanksgiving Day is Monday October 10th.

Foundational Skill Assessment (FSA)

Lastly, the Grade 7 class will be completing the Foundational Skill Assessment (FSA) as mandated by the Ministry of Education. These assessments will be administered during the month of October.

Enjoy your weekend and see you Monday!
