Grade 7

First Week Recap & News

Hello Grade Seven Families!

This past week and today we have been getting acquainted with being in Grade 7, which included receiving their new hoodies (they look great!), getting organized for Outdoor education and learning about collaboration and communication as a key aspect of life in Grade 7 and beyond.

Below you can see some of images of the students engaged in one such team building activity (tower building design) followed by their takeaways regarding being an effective communicator/collaborator.

This is an appropriate segue into this week’s Outdoor Education trip! We will be meeting at the school at 7:00am and departing at 7:15am. Please meet under the covered area.

Should you have any questions regarding the trip, please contact myself (rkirkham@stpaulschool.ca) or Mr. Kelly (gkelly@stpaulschool.ca). The students can bring a snack but they are asked to consume the snack before they leave the ferry (it will not be allowed into camp). Their first meal of the day at camp will be lunch.

We will be departing on the 10:55am ferry on Friday September 14th and we expect to be back by the school at 1:30pm. Parents, you may pick up your child at that time or wait until 3pm. Students will be supervised in the classroom. Please come up to the classroom to collect your child if you wish to pick him/her up prior to 3pm.

Also, thank you again for the delicious birthday cake – my family and I (as well as the staff) enjoyed it very much – and generous gift!

Lastly, you will notice that the blog will only be updated occasionally throughout each month. For more consistent updates regarding student assignments and goings-on within Grade 7, please ensure you accepted my invite to you from Google Classroom. Here you will be able to set the frequency with which you receive these updates. Again, please let me know if you have any questions.

We look forward to a wonderful week at camp, and see you in the morning!
