Grade 1

Week of October 30th – November 3rd

Hi Grade One Families,

On Wednesday we had our Walkathon assembly and we raised a grand total of $87,706 Thank you very much for all your hard work in collecting pledges! A special congratulations to our Grade 1 Walkathon prize winners- Paul, Abby, Amanda, Tyler, Mackenzie, Karsten, Theo, Ella, Rina, Jordan and Zachary! Thank you to all families for your dedication to our only fundraiser of the year. What a successful year it has been!

In addition to Halloween, this week we are celebrating All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day on Wednesday and Thursday respectively. We will be learning about the different saints throughout the month of November as we look to them to help us grow in our relationship with God. We will also be focusing our prayer intentions on our loved ones who have passed away. On Monday, they will be taking home a piece of paper to write down the name of someone who has passed away that they want to pray for. Please return it by Wednesday so we can include them in our class prayer intentions.

I wanted to also say thank you so so much for the gorgeous book of messages I received from the Gr.1 students. Thank you to Mrs. D for making the classroom party ready and to you, the parents for your generous gift ! It is a joy to work with your children every day! – Ms. Carroll
