The Easter Triduum

Greetings, St. Paul Families,

The conclusion to this final week of Lent is the Sacred Easter Triduum, and it is a time devoted to special prayer and observances.  While it has been a challenge to celebrate Holy Week this week given the limitations that prevent us from celebrating the various events in our usual way, the staff has still managed to create meaningful learning and worship opportunities surrounding Palm Sunday, the Last Supper, and the Stations of the Cross with their classes.  A special thank you to Mr. Kirkham and our Gr. 7 students for their dramatic recreation of the Last Supper, which will shared via email with families on Holy Thursday.

By providing our students with the opportunities to experience these truths in meaningful ways through liturgy and symbols, the experiences become a powerful proclamation of the Gospel, and God at work in the lives of our students.  The three communities of church, school and family come together to support the truth, and our students should come to know and to proclaim the truth.  It is this truth and belief in the risen Lord that our faith is built upon, and we model our lives around honouring God and helping others around us to become closer and stronger in their faith.

Enjoy and celebrate our Saviour’s gift to us, his only Son.  Have a Blessed Easter!

Yours in faith,

Maureen Moorehead
