Hi Grade One Families,
Where has September gone? It’s hard to believe we are already in the second month of Grade One!
We had quite the important Thursday today honouring the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation by wearing our orange shirts. We read “With our Orange Hearts” by Phyllis Webstad as well as other books about residential schools and the students had many thoughtful questions and connections about the experiences. We talked about how we wear our orange shirts to promote healing and reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples.
Tomorrow we have our school Walkathon. Thank you to all the parents and family members who have volunteered to come walk with our class, Katherine Phenco, Yuike Luo, Jonas Jubida, Soza Castanos, Elizabeth Whang and all who will join on the day! The children can’t wait to be outside, and be able to spend time with their friends. We hope to be blessed with a beautiful sunny day. Thank you for continuing to collect pledges.
