Grade 1

Week of October 16 – 20

Hi Grade One Families,

We are under way with our Open Parachute lessons! Our first unit in class is on Growth Mindset. The students’ first couple lessons have been about noticing anger and happiness triggers, as well as recognizing and changing unhelpful thoughts. They did a wonderful job reframing negative thoughts into positive thoughts. We will continue to practice these skills as the year progresses. Please feel free to ask your child about how they can recognize and change their unhelpful thoughts.

Learning Conferences are this coming Friday, Oct. 20th. Please don’t forget to book your appointment starting on Saturday, October 14th at 9 am. See the notice that was sent home last week for more information. We look forward to seeing you on Friday and celebrating your child’s learning together.
