/September 30th – October 4th

September 30th – October 4th

We had another exciting week in Kindergarten! We started it off by decorating some delicious-smelling gingerbread men with our big buddies. The kids kept a close eye on them while they were drying, just to make sure they wouldn’t run away! Unfortunately, our gingerbread men were very clever and decided to run away when we left them in the oven! Luckily, the Kindergarteners were up for the challenge and were able to track them down after visiting all the classrooms and offices in the school…which I’m sure you all heard about at home!

We then ended the week with a very successful Walk-a-thon! Thank you to all the parents for your constant support and a special thank you to the many parents and grandparents who were able to walk with our class. The children, albeit a little tired at the end, had a wonderful first Walk-a-thon!

Student of the Week and Show & Tell

  1. Student of the Week – If you child is student of the week, please take the time to document their week by taking pictures (swimming/piano/violin/karate lessons, playing games/toys at home, family outings, etc.) and helping them as much as needed with their writing. Your child will have two activities throughout the week:
    •   Poster: please help your child fill out their “All About Me” poster. This includes answering some questions and printing out some pictures so that the class can get to know your child
    •   Fin: Each child has 1 week to show their classmate what a typical week looks like in their home by documenting their week with Fin. (Sample book from last year will be sent home for reference)
  2. Show & Tell – If it’s your child’s day to Show & Tell, please help them pick an item from home that fits within our theme of the week. Please also ensure they are sending the item on their specified day and help them practice telling 3 hints about their Show & Tell (Example: The Fin plush animal is 1) black 2) a whale 3) the Canuck’s mascot)
