Kindergarten

October 5th-9th

This week, Kindergarten discussed ways they could spread good feelings to others and become bucket-fillers! The children even made their own buckets to remind themselves that everyone carries an invisible one and when we choose to be kind, we not only fill the buckets of those around us, but also fill our own! Mrs. D and I are so pleased to see them building such a caring classroom community!

It was also a pleasure seeing all of you at Meet the Teacher Night! Thank you for taking the time to learn about what Kindergarten has in store for your children and for visiting our classroom! We look forward to a faith-filled (and bucket-filled!) year at St. Paul School!

  3. Flashcards and Headphones – Thank you for sending in your child’s alphabet and number cards as well as a pair of headphones for them to use in class. If you haven’t already done so, please send these items in as soon as possible.
  4. Library Books – due every Monday. Please remember to return library books that were borrowed from last week. Thank you to those who have brought them back before Monday!
  5. Classroom Learning– All students in Kindergarten are now learning in-class! Therefore, daily prayers on Class Dojo will no longer be posted and weekly circle time meetings on Zoom will no longer take place. Please note, however, that our class website and online programs will still be accessible for those wanting to enrich their learning!

Student of the Week and Show & Tell

  1. Student of the Week – If you child is student of the week, please take the time to document their week by taking pictures (swimming/piano/violin/karate lessons, playing games/toys at home, family outings, etc.) and helping them as much as needed with their writing. Your child will have two activities throughout the week:
    •   Poster: please help your child fill out their “All About Me” poster. This includes answering some questions and printing out some pictures so that the class can get to know your child.
    •   Journal: Each child has 1 week to show their classmate what a typical week looks like in their home by documenting their week with their favourite stuffie. This includes writing about 3 exciting things they did together as well as taking photos of them during the week. A sample will be provided for your reference.
  2. Show & Tell – If it’s your child’s day to Show & Tell, please help them pick an item from home that fits within our theme of the week. Please also ensure they are sending the item on their specified day and help them practice telling 3 clues about their Show & Tell (Example: Basketball 1) orange  2) bounces  3) throw it into a hoop)

Upcoming Dates:

  1. Monday, October 12th– Thanksgiving (No School)
  2. Friday, October 16th– Fukuroku Hot Lunch (for those who ordered)

Please let us know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
