Kindergarten

May 3rd – 7th

Hi Kinder families,

We had a very busy and exciting week! We began our week learning about the plant life cycle and even planted our very own plants in class! We look forward to taking good care of them, and watching them grow over the next couple weeks. We also spoke about various needs and wants in our lives! The children are doing a wonderful job discussing things that we need (in order to survive) vs. things that we want (things we like, but don’t need to survive). On Friday, we enjoyed dress down day, where we got to show our friends our favourite jerseys, and support Catholic Charities of the Vancouver Archdiocese with our donations! We began to learn about coding and enjoyed exploring Lightbot Jr. and we also had our very first Spelling Challenge! We did such a wonderful job and are onto Spelling Challenge #2….

  2. Sounds- Please remember to review the sounds we are completing in class regularly with the children at home. These can be found in the ReadWell folders.
  3. Spelling Challenges- Please take a look at your child’s green T3 Spelling Challenge folder and review any words that need to be reviewed. The kids did a wonderful job on Spelling Challenge #1 and new lists will continue to be sent out on Mondays.
  4. “Hail Mary” prayer – Please find a copy of the Hail Mary in your child’s homework folder on Monday and practice praying it every night with your child. We will begin incorporating it into our Morning Prayer routine starting on Monday (through the month of May).

Friendly Reminders:

  1. Sweaters – Please remember to check your child’s school sweater(s) to ensure they have their own, as we have had a few incidents of lost sweaters especially with the nice weather. We also kindly remind you to label your child’s sweater so that they can be returned, if they go missing.
