Homework:

  1. 10 to 15 minutes of home reading (please use “My Reading” book, “Read-well” book, and books from home)
  2. Fun Friends- Please review Session 6 and continue discussing “Red and Green Thoughts” with your child (this book can stay at home but please remember to review some activities in the assigned session with your child)
  3. Bookmark Contest– For those interested in participating in the Bookmark Contest, the last day to submit your entry form to school will be on Monday.
  4.  “Read-Well” book– This book contains all of your children’s work in our Language Arts Program “Read Well.” Please review the letter of the week and use the “Parent Prompt” questions (found at the bottom of each page) with your child.
    • If you notice that your child has not finished the back of their Letter Record page in class, please brainstorm with them three words that begin with that letter. Then, have them write down the three words on the dotted lines and draw their corresponding pictures in the blank box.
  5. Lenten Journey- At the end of next week, your child will be taking home their Lenten Journey sheet to fill out over Spring Break. Please put this sheet somewhere your child will see (i.e. refrigerator, desk, etc.) and remember to colour in one box for each day of Lent during Spring Break. Please return this sheet to school after the break so that the children can continue to fill it in, in class.

Friendly Reminders:

  1. House on Pooh Corner- We are going to be watching The House on Pooh Corner at the Waterfront Theatre on Thursday! This will be a full-uniform day and there will be a regular school dismissal at 3:00.
    • Please note that this field trip has been partially funded by the PSG (Parent Support Group) who volunteer their time to apply for and administer provincial grant money to enhance students’ learning experiences. Special thanks to the PSG for their help and support for this field trip.
  2. Lenten School Mass – It’s been wonderful seeing so many of you at morning Mass during these past couple of weeks! Please continue to do your best to attend.
  3. School Uniform: Please see Mrs. Moorehead’s note in the Thursday letter for more information about School Uniform Policy
    • Sweaters- Please check your child’s school sweater(s) to ensure they have brought home their own, as we have had a few incidents of lost sweaters. We also kindly remind you to label your child’s sweater so that they can be returned, if they go missing.
    • Accessories– Please keep accessories simple and discreet. No jewellery except small studs for pierced ears and no nail polish. Hair accessories should match the uniform.
    • Pants/Tights-Please note that dress pants, socks, and girls’ tights (no leggings) should all be navy blue in colour.
  4. Toys – Just a friendly reminder that unless it is your child’s show and tell, please be sure to keep toys at home, so that they don’t get lost or broken at school.
  5. Spring Break – Reminder that Friday, March 13th, is the last day of school before Spring Break. The first day back will be on Monday, March 30th.   We wish you all a safe and relaxing Spring Break!

Upcoming Dates:

Please let us know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
