Kindergarten

January 27th-31st

It has been a week of celebrations! Not only did we continue our discussion on Baptism by sharing more of our mementos, we ended our week by celebrating the Feast Day of St. Paul! Many thanks to our parents who were able to celebrate with us at today’s luncheon (and join in on some BINGO fun 🙌)! We also learned about Chinese New Year, another day many of us will be celebrating tomorrow! The students found out that the little red envelope is a symbol of good luck and even created their own Chinese lanterns! We wish all Kindergarten families good health, joy, and prosperity!

  2. Brighouse Library-Richmond Museum Field Trip– We are going to the Brighouse Library and the Richmond Museum on Tuesday! Thank you to everyone who sent their permission forms in today, as well as to all the parents that are able to drive. If you haven’t sent in your form, please be sure to do so on Monday. Please note, this will be a full-uniform day.
  3. Assembly Song- Please check your child’s Reading Book for lyrics to This Little Light of Mine, the song that they will be singing during this Friday’s school assembly. We kindly ask that you practice it with them at home.
  4. Fun Friends- We will begin this Social-Emotional Learning program next week. A yellow booklet will be sent home with your child on Monday so please check the blog every week to see which sessions to follow at home with them.

Friendly Reminders:

  1. Homework folders– Please continue to check these daily and send them back to school every day with your child. Each morning the children hand these in.
  2. Sweaters- Please check your child’s school sweater(s) to ensure they have brought home their own, as we have had a few incidents of lost sweaters. We also kindly remind you to label your child’s sweater so that they can be returned, if they go missing.
  3. Hot Lunch– Just a friendly reminder to please make sure your child brings his/her own reusable cutlery during hot lunch days as our food providers are NOT providing plastic cutlery for the students this year.
  4. Toys – Just a friendly reminder that unless it is your child’s show and tell, please be sure to keep toys at home, so that they don’t get lost or broken at school.

Upcoming Dates:

  1. Friday, February 7th– Communicating Student Learning Progress Reports sent home
  2. Tuesday, February 18th– Kindergarten 100’s Day Celebration! (more details to come)

Please let us know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.

With love,
