Grade 5

Week of October 12th – 16th

Hi Grade 5 Families!

Happy Thanksgiving! I’m thankful to be part of such a supportive and loving community. I hope you all had a wonderful time with your families this weekend! This week, we look forward to another short week with Thanksgiving Day and Class Mass on Wednesday.

The school community has started Weekly Class Masses with Father Smith and/or Father Joseph. Each week, one class will have the opportunity to attend and lead the Daily Mass. Grade 5s will have their turn this week on Wednesday, October 14th.

Our featured image this week is the childrens’ reflection activity and art work. We read the First Nations story the The Six Cedar Trees and learned about what different animals represent in the Snuneymuxw First Nation of the Coast Salish peoples tradition. They reflected on which one they identified with the most and discussed with their peers what actions from their animal they show at school. The animals they drew are the ones they want to be more like, and work towards, for the year.
