Grade 5

Week of May 17th – 21st

Hi Grade 5 Families,

Last week, we had started our new units, Literature Circles and Government! For Literature Circles, the children will be participating in book club type activities, of a book of their choice. For Government, we will be learning about different types, Canada’s government and the role of government! This week, we look forward to attending Class Mass with Father Smith. We were meant to go last week, however we gladly let the Grade 7s attend and offer up a Mass for their beloved classmate, Justice.

Reminder that it is a short this week and next, no classes on Friday, May 21st, for Walkathon and no school next Monday, May 24th, for Victoria Day.

Our featured image is our Praying Mantis; they hatched on Wednesday! It was an incredibly exciting and inquiry-filled morning when they hatched. They started out this pale colour and by the end of they day, they had moulted their outer layer and were a brownish colour. We look forward to observing and taking care of them!
