Grade 5

Week of February 20 – 24, 2023

Hello Grade Five Families!

I hope that everyone had a relaxing long weekend after our very short school week last week.

I would like to thank all of the parents who helped with our ski program this year. We have now completed all four of the ski lessons and I hope that all of the students had fun on Grouse Mountain with their classmates. Also, we extend a very special note of thanks to Mr. Kelly who organizes the ski trips every year.

This week we begin the liturgical season of Lent. During the forty days of Lent, we have the opportunity to reflect upon and renew our calling to be more like our Saviour, Jesus. Through prayer, fasting and giving we can change our hearts to be more like Him. I would encourage all of our Grade Five students and families to join us for 8:15am Mass every week day.  The students will leave their backpacks in the vestibule of the Church and sit in the reserved pews at the front. Please join us! It is a beautiful way to begin the day.

I have been given the wonderful opportunity to begin Lent at a religious education conference in California so I will not be at school on Thursday and Friday this week. Please direct any absentee emails to Mrs. Ong as I will not be checking my email regularly from Thursday morning until Sunday evening.

Please note the following for this week:

  • this is a non-uniform day when students wear pink shirts to support anti-bullying
