Grade 5

Week of December 14th – 18th

Hi Grade 5 Families,

Happy 3rd Week of Advent! This week, we look forward to having Class Mass with Father Smith in Rooms 1&2, our Advent Celebration and our last day of school! Busy but exciting week ahead of us!

Our featured image this week is from our Cooking Mining Experiment. We had learned about various forms of mining and explored open-pit mining with the cookies. They pretended they were a mining company and had to see if they were able to make money mining chocolate chips after accounting for their expenses; materials, operation costs, land reclamation, etc. It’s a great way for the children to practice some life skills while exploring environmental effects while obtaining natural resources.
