Grade 5

Week of February 1st – 5th

Hi Grade 5 Families,

Can you believe it’s already February! This past week we learned about 2 saints! We celebrated the Feast of St. Paul’s conversion with live streamed Mass and learned a little bit about his Ministry from the Book of Acts. We learned he was shipwrecked twice, so the children did a writing activity about what they might hear or feel on a ship, while listening to water and thunder sounds. Our other saint was St. Stephen – the first venerated Christian martyr. We discussed what it would be like to stand for our beliefs and learned he is the patron saint of altar servers and deacons; so the children wrote letters to our class seminarians and the recently ordained Deacon in the Archdiocese!

This week we look forward to continuing to read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and getting our Communicating Student Learning Progress Reports.

Our featured image this week is from Board Game Tuesday. The children learn and use different core and curricular competencies in board game play. On top of that, it’s fun to play! 😄
