Grade 4

Week of March 30 – April 3

Dear Grade Four Families,

I hope you are keeping safe and well as you read this blog. I know many of you have questions in regards to your child’s education during this unprecedented time, but please know that the continuity of their learning is my utmost priority! I have spent most of my 2 week break researching about digital learning. The good news is that there are many educational sites offering digital access for free. I have signed up for many of them, and I hope this will help keep your children engaged in learning at home for however long we are expected to stay at home. Most of the assignments should be done independently by your child, but they may need some assistance (or supplies) for science activities.

Our staff will be meeting tomorrow (virtually) to discuss what digital learning will look like for St. Paul School. I will have more answers once Mrs. Moorehead meets with the superintendent and all the other principals of the Catholic Independent Schools of the Archdiocese in the morning. Please continue to be diligent in reading Mrs. Moorehead’s updated emails to you over the next while, as it will contain some important information.

In the meantime, I have set up another tab in Google Classroom. This one is called “Digital Learning.” Please have your child sign into their Google classroom account and click on the + sign on the top right hand corner.  They will join a class and enter this class code:

I will be using this section to post their daily digital learning assignments. It will also contain the links to the different digital learning sites that I enrolled the class for. Once everything is in place and ready to go, this is where the students must first log into to find their To-Do list for the day. I will email you when we’re ready to start (hopefully by the end of the week).

I also plan to stay connected to the students through Zoom Meetings. This will allow us to get together as a class using video conferencing. I will email you the invitation link sometime this week as well. I can’t wait to see all their smiling faces again! I miss them so much!

During this transition time to digital learning, I ask for your patience and feedback as well.  Please let me know what is working well, what is not working, and if you have any suggestions that can enhance our digital learning better.

Thank you in advance, and I hope to see the children in the near future.  May the Lord protect us all during this uncertain time.

Take care,

Mrs. Imoo
