Grade 4

October 3-7

Good evening Grade 4 Families,

What a wonderful Walkathon we had today! The students persevered, worked hard and made it back to school in great time. Thank you for your support and to the parent volunteers who helped keep the students safe and motivated!

Despite the short week, lots of exciting learning happened in the classroom! In Math we have been working on data analysis and graphing. The students particularly enjoyed a game of “Bowl & Graph” yesterday. They recorded their teams’ points and practiced creating pictographs with the data collected.

The Grade 5 students and their Grade 1 buddies put on a meaningful service yesterday to prepare for National Truth & Reconciliation Day. The students had an opportunity to learn why we wear orange shirts and hear Phyllis Webstad‘s story. I encourage the students to take time tomorrow in their day to reflect and pray for the many Indigenous Peoples affected by the residential school system. More information on National Truth & Reconciliation Day and some great resources can be found here. ATPN will be broadcasting a national commemorative gathering live from Ottawa at 10am pacific time tomorrow morning.
