Grade 4

Week of Jan. 13-17

Dear Grade Four Families,

It was so nice to see all the students this week! I think they missed each other over the two week break and are happy to be reunited! This week, we focused on making New Year’s Resolutions and discussed the upcoming topics in our curriculum.

  • 10 Commandments

  • Multiplication Strategies

Language Arts:

  • Famous People that model core competencies
  • January Personal Project due on Jan. 31
  • Raz-Kids or a book of their choice: continue to read 5x a week for 20 – 30 minutes

  • Animal Research Project (Google Classroom)
    • Four Square and paragraphs due Jan. 17
    • Slides with trivia questions due Jan. 24
    • Presentations begin on Jan. 27

Social Studies:

Speech Arts:

The 3 schools (Sacred Heart, St. Joseph the Worker, and St. Paul) have decided to continue the Speech Arts Festival in Grades 2, 3 (Bible Reading and Poetry) and 7 (Speeches) only. We feel that the students in the intermediate grades have many opportunities to practice their public speaking skills in class, during assemblies, and at Mass.
