Grade 3

September 20th ~ 24th

Hello Grade 3 Families!

It was a pleasure to meet the parents who were able to attend our Meet the Teacher evening last Monday^^*

We are already 2 weeks into the new school year and I am really impressed by how quickly the students have adapted to the new routines in Grade 3!

At the beginning of this week the students will do the reading assessment for the Read Well program. I am hoping that we will be able to start Read Well before the end of this week. In Grade 3 Read Well is quite different in comparison to what the students experienced in Grade 1 and 2. The focus will be more on developing their comprehension skills.

During our Read Well sessions, a group of students who are in the same reading-level will work with me at the blue table for Read Well teacher-directed instruction, while the other students will be changing stations every 20 minutes.

In the various stations, the students will either be doing  collaborative work or independent work. It will be a new adventure for the grade 3 students^^*!
