Grade 3

May 17th ~ 21st

Hello Grade 3 Families!

What a wonderful weekend! I hope that you are all able to spend some time outside and enjoy the beautiful sunny weather^^*

As mentioned in  Mrs. Moorehead’s Thursday letter, one  of our Grade 7 students, Justice Guno, is currently in the ICU at BC Children’s Hospital.  He suffered a sudden brain bleed which occurred on May 4th. The Grade 3 students had an opportunity to make a special card for Justice in which they wrote words of encouragement for him and his family. We have also been praying for him on a daily basis in our morning prayers. Please place him in your prayers at home.  #JusticeSTRONG

In this last term, the students will be doing an oral presentation on a topic of their choice. They will have until next Tuesday to decide what they would like to do their presentation on. It is open-ended and should preferably be something they feel passionate about. One of the Big Ideas in the BC curriculum is “Language and story can be a source of creativity and joy”. The goal is to have them tap into their “creativity and joy” while preparing and doing their presentation. It can also be a demonstration, as long as they are able to explain what they are doing and why they are doing it. There is no obligation to do a written description with the presentation unless it is a part of it. The students will have a question-answer period after the presentation.

The evaluation will be on the rendering of their oral presentation  and on their being well-prepared.
