Hello Grade 3 Families!
Monday is already the first day of March! It’s incredible how fast time flies by: it will already be Spring Break in only 2 weeks time! We should be wrapping up our science unit on bodies of water and landforms between now and then. It’s a wonderful cross-curricular unit that I love doing with the Grade 3 students. It’s always amazing to see where their level of creativity brings them^^*
This week we will continue our Lenten journey with the Stations of the Cross. As we walk with Jesus through the stations of the cross we are able to have an even better understanding of everything Jesus endured to save us from our sins. This week we will also be making Easter cards through the Outreach Ministry for inmates and for the homeless. Doing this gesture for the less fortunate allows us to move even closer as we walk with Jesus, our living hope.
This past week the students finished writing the scripts for their Science Project skit. Most of them brought their scripts home for the weekend to practice their lines. They seem to be fully committed to making their script come to life, and I’m really looking forward to seeing the final results of their efforts! Please make sure your child places their script into their zippered pouch in their backpack; they will be needing them this week to practice with their partners.
The Grade 3 students have been diligently doing their math homework. Congratulations to them and to you^^*!!! In this week’s math homework, they will be adding 2-digit numbers with regrouping. On Wednesday, the students will be having a mini math test to see where they are in their addition skills.
On Monday each student will be given a handout with different suggestions on how to reinforce what they’re learning in unit 3 at home. Please go over it with your child and see which ones you could do together. The more practice they have, the easier it becomes^^*
