Hello Grade 3 Families!
The students were really busy this week completing their Science Poster Project and are now ready to start working on their oral presentations^^* They will have one period to practice with their partner, then will start doing their oral presentations in front of their peers. The Grade 3 students will be assessed on their making eye contact with their audience, varying their intonation to convey meaning, and the creative aspect of their presentation (poster, body gestures etc.). The excitement in the air is already palpable!
The TTL students already did their presentations via Zoom on Friday. We all enjoyed having them back in the classroom, if only virtually. They all did extremely well during their presentations and the students enjoyed being able to watch them! We even had a few minutes left for a question and answer session^^*
On Friday for Black Shirt Day, we learned about Ruby Bridges’ story. She was the first African-American child to integrate an all-white school in Louisiana when she was only 6 years old. We were all over-whelmed by the level of resistance demonstrated by the white parents of children attending the school and within the white community. We talked about how change is often encountered by resistance: about differentiating right from wrong. If you would like to learn more about Ruby Bridges, or pursue the discussion at home, here are the links we watched together in the classroom.

- Pro-D Day (No school)
- PE today at 9:00 am
- Students come to school wearing their PE strip
- Please make sure their complete uniform is in their backpack
- They will change into their gym shoes at school
- Dismissal at 2:00 pm today (1:45 – 2:00 or 2:00-2:15)
