Grade 3

February 24th~28th

Hello Grade 3 Families!

The Grade 3 students have been fully dedicated in learning the rosary! It has been a real pleasure hearing them recite the prayers with their rosary in their groups. This Monday we will have the pleasure of participating in a Wrist Rosary Workshop with the Grade 4 students.

From what I understand, each student will be gifted a wrist rosary that was made by one of the inmates from the Federal Institution. The inmates make these wrist rosaries to raise funds for various organizations. The wrist rosary that your child will be making on Monday will be sold for $5 to raise funds for Operation Smile, the Door is Open (to feed the needy) and the Prison Ministry. If  you are interested in buying the wrist rosary that your child will be making to help raise funds, please make sure that they bring the $5 to school on Monday morning ❤

Volunteers will bring the materials and will teach each student how to make a wrist rosary themselves. If anyone is interested in assisting, please let me know; a few helpers would be appreciated. At the end of the class, we will be praying the rosary.  The entire session takes less than 1 hour.

The students will soon be bringing math homework to practice their additions, subtractions, and eventually divisions and multiplications. Please go over their answers with them to make sure they are doing it correctly. A good way to reinforce what was seen in class is to ask them to show you how they found the answer using one of the strategies that they learned in class.

Please make sure they continue to do their 30 minutes of daily reading. A good time to do this is just before they go to bed. You can even do shared reading with your child where each of you takes turns reading a sentence.

Whatever you do with them at home is deeply appreciated. It does make a difference. Thank you for helping your child acquire numerous skills as they prepare to “walk up those stairs”^^*!

We will be celebrating Nathan’s birthday with him on Tuesday! His parents will be bringing pizza for the Grade 3 students’ lunch^^*
