Hello Grade 3 Families!
This past week was a very special week. Talking about Lent allowed us to discuss the importance of sacrificing distractions to have more space to feel Jesus’ presence in our lives. We will continue our Lenten journey with the Stations of the Cross.
The students thoroughly enjoyed working on their science models last week! They will have another hour to complete them on Monday, then will be placing their focus on their skits.
The students have been doing really well with their math homework. This is extremely important since it helps them put into practice, and improve, their addition skills. Soon they will be doing subtractions, and eventually divisions and multiplications. Please go over their answers with them to make sure they are doing it correctly. A good way to reinforce what was seen in class is to ask them to show you how they found the answer using one of the strategies that they learned in class.
Please make sure they continue to do their 30 minutes of daily reading. A good time to do this is just before they go to bed. You can even do shared reading with your child where each of you takes turns reading a sentence.
Whatever you do with them at home is deeply appreciated. It does make a difference. Thank you for helping your child acquire numerous skills as they prepare to “walk up those stairs”^^*!
