Grade 3

February 10th~14th

Hello Grade 3 Families!

We have started a new unit in science on landforms and bodies of water. The students will be making a model at home with a partner. They will be bringing it completed back to class to present it to the other students through a skit. The students will be paired up with another team to act it out and produce an iMovie of their skit. You will be able to view them during the Student Led Conference^^*

Once they have all done their iMovie presentations in the classroom to their peers, the students from the other  grades will be able to come and see their models.

I added information on the ‘Home Science Project‘ that the students will be doing in Class Info.

On Monday they will be choosing their partner. We have already talked about it in class, and I have asked them to choose someone with whom it would be possible to meet up with outside of classroom hours. If you have any issues with the possibilities of their meeting up with their partner, please let me know as soon as possible so that adjustments can be made.

The Grade 3 students will also be doing their Bible Reading for the Tri-School Speech Arts first selection on Monday. They will be doing it in front of their classmates. We will be selecting 18 students to do a Bible Reading again on Wednesday, February 19th. The second round will be open to parents, and will include the Grade 2s who will be reading poetry.

On Tuesday we will have a special guest at our school! The unstoppable Tracy, who was born a 4-way amputee, will do a presentation on perseverance and turning a ‘No’ into accepted counter offers. The students will also learn tools to improve resiliency and goal-setting. It should be a very up-lifting motivational presentation!
