Grade 2

Week of Oct. 28 – Nov. 1

Hi Grade Two Families!

This week we’ve been talking about how they can be a leader in the classroom. We talked about what a leader looks, sounds and feels like. Throughout the week, like after Mass, Reading Groups and other activities, the students had to self-assess if they were a leader or a distracter. Everyone was able to show how they were a leader at least once throughout the week. We will keep working to be leaders at all times.

We had quite the adventure on Friday after losing power in the afternoon. The students remained calm as we worked in the sunlight for the rest of the day.

It worked out particularly well for our Art activity which is featured in the blog photo. We learned the story about  a little boy who stumbled into a cave and found cave drawings, so we made some of our own! We crumbled up some brown paper to emulate the cave walls, crawled under the desk and using charcoal we started drawing! Then they visited each other’s caves to check out their drawings. The students did a wonderful job with their drawings. I was most impressed by how supportive they were of one another’s drawings. Keep up the awesome work!
