Grade 2

Week of Nov. 23 – 27

Hello Grade Two Families!

This week we wrapped our unit on growing patterns. The students have been practicing different kinds of growing patterns on paper, using manipulatives and many more! They shared what they know by making their own growing pattern. The class has also been generalizing their understanding Check out Class Dojo this week to see what pattern they made!

The class has also been generalizing their understanding of growing patterns into their daily lives. They’ve been finding growing patterns around the classroom, the school and finding them in numbers, specifically skip counting! This is perfect as we move onto our number sense unit. We will be playing with numbers from 0 to 100. We will be working on ordering numbers, even and odd numbers, place value and understanding 10s and 1s. We’ll be experts at numbers to 100 before we reach 100 days of Grade 2!
