Dear Grade Two Families,
This past week, our class had some new visitors come into our classroom! The first visitor, or should I say visitors, were our little caterpillars! As part of our Life Cycle unit, Grade Two will be raising caterpillars to learn about the life cycle of a butterfly. They have been doing a wonderful job being gentle and carefully observing our new class pets. The students are so excited to see them grow and transform into beautiful butterflies!
Our next visitor was Solomon Nguyen, a seminarian who just arrived from Mission and will be with us for a few months. He talked to the class about the Eucharist and invited the students to ask him any questions they had about First Communion.
Speaking of which, the current date for Grade Two’s First Holy Communion is scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, June 2nd. However, please keep in mind that this date is still tentative due to the restrictions in place for large in-person gatherings. Therefore, Father Smith would like to wait until the May long weekend to see what, if any, restrictions will be lifted before making a final decision. Once he finalizes the plans for First Communion, I will let you know.
Finally, our class has been praying for the healing and full recovery of Justice, a Grade Seven student who is currently in the ICU at BC Children’s Hospital. Please also continue to keep Justice and his family in your prayers during this difficult time. #JusticeSTRONG
