Dear Grade Two Families,
Congratulations! We have completed the first half of the First Communion program! We are four Masses and four meetings down! Your children have been praying, reflecting, and participating excellently as they prepare their hearts for Jesus. I truly appreciate the dedication and support you have given your child throughout this first part of the program. Please make sure all of the pages in the Gold Book for the themes of Belonging, Celebrating, Listening and Caring are completed.
We have also completed our first week of the Reading Log! The students have expressed that they are enjoying reading these books and are always excited to choose new ones to bring home. In class, they have also been learning different strategies to help them practice their addition facts. So far, they learned the counting on, doubles, and neighbour numbers strategies. The children are catching on quickly and I encourage you to continue practicing single-digit addition and subtraction facts with them at home.

- Wear Red, White, and/or Pink and bring a $2 donation for Chalice
- If your child plans on giving Valentine cards or treats to their classmates, please ensure there are no names on them (except for who they’re from). All treats must be nut-free and individually wrapped
- A reusable bag will be provided for your child to take their treats home at the end of the day

- 100th Day of School Celebration!
- Dress up as if you were 100 years old. Be as creative as you want with glasses, hair, and outfits! 👴🏻👵🏻
