Grade 1

Week of September 6 – 10

Hello Grade One Families!

Wow! Here we are at Labor Day Weekend already and Grade One is about to begin! There are so many emotions that come with the beginning of a new school year. I’m sure that we all share the hope that the children will feel joy, confidence, wonder, pride, fun, friendship and so many other positive emotions throughout their Grade One year. There will be bumps along the road, but I know that we can all work together to make this a fabulous school year for all of the Grade One students and families. We pray that God will protect us, Jesus will be with us, and the Holy Spirit will guide us.

As I am sure you are aware, as we continue in the COVID-19 pandemic masks are optional for students in the Primary Grades which includes Grade One. As you are deciding about mask-wearing for your child, please note that they are now in the big school building which means that throughout the course of the day they will share space with students from other classes such as in the hallway and bathrooms; and during Buddy Activity, Assemblies, and Masses. If you would like your child to wear a mask during their time at school, please discuss your expectations with them.

Here is an outline of what will be happening during this first week of school:
