Grade 1

Week of October 12 – 16

We have experienced many new things during the first few weeks of this school year haven’t we? On this Thanksgiving weekend, I would like to express my immense gratitude for your support and cooperation. It is a privilege to be a part of your child’s learning journey and I feel blessed everyday for this opportunity. I am thankful for the joy, questions, comments, kindness, humour, attitude and so many other aspects of themselves that  they bring to Grade One. I hope that all of you have a weekend filled with moments of gratitude for the gifts of faith, family and friends. Wherever they are, may you be together in the spirit of love.

Next week will be a short week. Please note the following:

  • Thanksgiving Day ~ no school

  • PE class

Looking Ahead:

October 22-23 ~ Parent/Teacher Conference Day! Please follow the instructions sent from the school office regarding registering for a conference time.

October 30 ~ Halloween Eve Day! Students may come to school dressed in a costume (please see the Thursday letter for guidelines) or wearing orange and black clothes. Please send a $2 donation for our school’s foster child in Africa. Because of COVID-19 protocols, families are not allowed to send any treats to school to be distributed to other students (edible or other). We will be doing Halloween activities throughout the day and if you would like to send an extra-special snack for your child to eat during our afternoon activity you are welcome to do so. Please ensure that the snack is nut-free. Thank-you!

Please email me at if you have any questions or concerns.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Mrs. Kelly 🙂
