Grade 1

Week of November 9 – 13

Hello Grade One Families!

I hope that you are all enjoying this beautiful, sunny weekend!

This week we will continue our preparation for Remembrance Day. Our focus is on remembering all of the men and women who have dedicated and given their lives to ensuring that we can live in peace and safety. We are able to live the lives we have today because of their sacrifice and we thank them for their service to our country. We will have a virtual visit tomorrow with a former St. Paul School student who has recently joined the military and on Tuesday we will join the school for a virtual Assembly led by the Grade Seven class. There will be many broadcasts of Remembrance Day services on Wednesday, and I would invite your family to watch one together. Let us honour them and be thankful!

Please note the following for this week:

Monday

  • math pattern assignment due on ClassDojo
  • bring $2 for a poppy
  • PE class
  • bring photo envelope if your child needs a photo retake (please write “retake” on the envelope)

Tuesday

  • photo retakes for students who were absent for the original photo day and those whose parents have requested retakes (see above)
  • PE class

Wednesday ~ Remembrance Day

  • no school

Thursday

  • no PE class

Friday

  • PE class

Please note the following for next week:

Thursday November 19 is a dress-down day. Students may come to school dressed in the following theme: “Where is the first place that you would like to go on vacation when the COVID-19 pandemic is over?” Students may wear shirts from this place, the colours of the flag, or wear something that represents this place. Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather!

Friday November 20 is a Professional Development Day so there will be no school for students.

Please email me at nkelly@stpaulschool.ca if you have any questions or concerns.

Have a fabulous week!

Mrs. Kelly 🙂
