Grade 1

Week of November 16 – 20

Hello Grade One Families!
I hope that you are all having a wonderful weekend!

This week we will be having a non-uniform “dress down day”. Where is the first place that you would like to go for vacation when the COVID-19 pandemic is over?  is the theme of our dress-down day on Thursday November 19. Students are invited to come to school wearing clothing (appropriate for school and the weather) that shows where they would like to take their first post-pandemic vacation. It could be a t-shirt representing the place, the colours of the flag of the country, etc. For this dress-down day, we are raising money for “The Door is Open” (Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Vancouver) where the Sisters and volunteers work tirelessly to serve the people living on the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver. Each child is asked to please bring in a minimum $2 donation to support the work of “The Door is Open”. If you would like to see the work of “The Door is Open”, they have a Facebook page that you can check out.  Thank-you for your support!

Also, this looks as though it will be a week of unsettled weather so please make sure that your child has boots, a rain jacket and extra socks. Thanks!
