Grade 1

Week of November 12 – 16

Hello Grade One Families!

I hope that you are all enjoying this beautiful Saturday!

The students had a great start this week to The World is Full of Patterns unit. We noticed that patterns are in the cycle of day and night, in music, in books, and in our classroom. One of the “wondering” questions that came up was “I wonder how many patterns there are in our classroom and our school?”, so on Tuesday we will investigate and find out! If your child spots any patterns out in the community this weekend it would be fun to share those next week as well! You can take a photo,  e-mail it to me, and we will share the community patterns with everyone.

As part of our family unit, the students will need a photo of your family for our class family tree. Please send in a 3×5 or 4×6 photo by Thursday November 15. Thank-you!

Please note the following for the upcoming week:

Monday

  • school is closed (Remembrance Day observed)

Tuesday

  • PE class

Wednesday

  • no PE class with Mr. Kelly due to a volleyball playoff tournament in our gym (we will go outside weather permitting)
  • last day to order Scholastic (please submit no later than 3:00pm)

Thursday

  • family photo due

Friday

  • 9:00am Assembly led by Grade 6 and Kindergarten
