Grade 1

Week of March 9 – 13

Hello Grade One Families!

I hope that you are all having a wonderful weekend!

This week the Grade One class will be focussing on forgiveness as their Lent theme. We will hear the story of Jesus and Zacchaeus, and the parable of the Prodigal Son to lead us into discussion about what Jesus is teaching us about God’s gift of forgiveness to us and our forgiveness of others.

Thank-you to everyone who has been joining us for Mass at 8:15am. I hope to see many students there again this week!

On Thursday afternoon we will be attending “The House on Pooh Corner” at the Waterfront Theatre on Granville Island. All supervising parents are asked to meet us in the covered area by 11:30am. The students will eat lunch before we leave for the theatre. When we get back to school, the students will return to the classroom to pick-up their backpacks etc. and will be dismissed at 3:00pm as usual. All students will wear their school uniforms for the field trip.

Tuesday will be the last day for new home reading before Spring Break. Please ensure that all home reading books and green folders are returned to school before Spring Break. Thank-you!
